In Austin we dance a fusion dance that we call two-step. It's a classic two step combo infused with Conjunto. It's totally fun, and totally Texas.

I am a 65 year old original Austin Tejana. We have always just done a regular country 2-step count being quick quick, slow slow. Country swing was the same footwork as stated above but we added swing turns. Tejano was danced as a slide, slide, slide, slide with turns plus other fancy moves, partner holds or fancy footwork shines. I relate Tejano to what we called the One-step in Country dance when that was popular. Conjunto dancing was similar but a bit more gritty. Conjunto has very different partner holds and moves that were longer strides and lower body holds. I would say kind of like more groove to it. Not sure how your "style" started but happy to show how it was done since the sixties.

I was searching YouTube for “Conjunto dancing”, and this came up! 🤠
I didn’t realize that that style of two-step is considered “Tejano style”; thank you for the information! 🙏🏼
