Good and Evil Eye in Matthew 6:22-23: Rightly Interpreting Bible Verses

Jesus talked about good and evil eye. But what does it mean? Was Jesus asking us to be wise with our eyes? No. With the context and a little more background, we will find that Jesus was using a popular idiom in the Jewish context. And his message is about a person’s attitude towards wealth and money.

A single eye is a good eye that sees things clearly with a discerning spirit and act accordingly. An evil eye is a person who is covetous. Thank for this. I found a verse in proverb which serve as an example of how the 'single eye' was used in that culture.
'Proverbs 28:22 He that hasteth to be rich hath an evil eye, and considereth not that poverty shall come upon him.'

Also the immediate context truly supports the interpretation of generosity.
