If this is true, dreams really do come true 😢

Hopefully they actually put some effort into this one. PSP was awesome and they need to recapture that success.

If this actually turns to out to be true I'll be happy. I've been wanting Playstation to make new dedicated handheld and not streaming device like the portal. To able to play games without a constant connection to the console and wifi.

I would love to see it get another chance. As long as they support it, and don't give up on it like the first one.

The Day that Sony makes a new Dedicated Handheld Console is the day that Nintendo Releases Mother 3. Sorry to disappoint you guys, but as much as I would also love to see Sony take another crack at the Handheld Market, it's just not going to happen. Would be nice if they actually did go through with this.

Knowing Sony it will be a $10 update for your games to work on the Vita 2.

If it has full compatibility with my PS4 library at launch, it's a day one buy for me regardless of price

There’s room for a portal and vita in the market. Portal is only 200 bucks, streaming only, budget option. Vita 2 full fledged 7840u type handheld maybe at 800p, absolutely could run these games, with some configuration by the devs on a case by case basis

This would be really cool, but doesn't really make that much sense. They just released the Playstation portal

I still think they should have given the Xperia Go another shot. A smartphone handheld game console hybrid seems like a no-brainer to me.

You're completely right what is the point of the portal? It seems like a complete waste of money if not time.

I hope another Vita comes back. It was so good. I was so wrong about it when it launched.

Even if this were real, I don’t/can’t trust Sony with handhelds. Not when I have a Steam Deck and a Switch which have great support.

They just launched the PS Portal, I know it doesn't play games natively but I just can't see them doing a Vita 2 so close to it. Maybe in a few years they'll launch another handheld that plays games natively.

Sony should've released a new handheld alongside the PS5. PS5 could've been backwards compatible with PS4 games.

The handheld would have the PS1, PS2, PS3, PSP and PS Vita library with 64 GB of internal storage SD card compatibility, OLED screen with usb type C charging port all for 300 dollars. Of course the handheld would be as strong as the latest ps3 model or the early ps4 model.

The handheld market is exploding on PC. And I'm glad they're doing so.
Sony would be a fool for not releasing a dedicated handheld system.

Moore’s Law is Dead is a very accurate leaker in the PC and CPU/GPU space. He’s seldomly wrong. So, I would prepare your B-holes for a PS Vita 2 y’all.

Texture packs can be reduced for portable device versions man. What may be 200GB on a PS console, can be dropped down MUCH lower with lower/quality texture packs. It’s actually incredible common. Reducing your graphics setting in a game will reduce the space in memory your game would use.

It all makes perfect sense, if you actually understand how games are made and how memory and storage space can be utilized.

I'm up for it! Please, bring some variety back

Just bought a mint condition vita and will mod it soon. I would love to see a vita 2 as well though. Perfect form factor for handheld in my opinion

Im with you 85 it makes no sense to release this in the ps6 lifecycle and then think developers are going to go back to work on last gen games for a handheld while trying to produce new games for current gen. not to mention knowing the price of current handhelds on the market with performance and storage specs you would need. This would likely cost more than the ps6.
