CAMBRIDGE | 4K Narrated Walking Tour | Let's Walk 2023

Join me for a walk around one of the world's most beautiful cities: Cambridge! Home to Britain's second-oldest university, one of the world's most prestigious, Cambridge's history and day-to-day life is dominated by the university, with 31 historic colleges dotted around the city, many lining the beautiful banks of the River Cam. Beyond the university, though, there's plenty more to see around Cambridge, from its 11th-century castle to its array of beautiful medieval churches, and the houses and former hangout spots of some of history's greatest minds!

On our walk around Cambridge, we pass countless fascinating landmarks, including Kings' College, the River Cam, The Backs, Clare College, Kings' College Chapel, Great St. Mary's Church, Market Hill, Cambridge Guildhall, the Old Corn Exchange, St. Bene't's Church, The Eagle Pub, The Corpus Clock, Corpus Christi College, St. Catharine's College, The Pitt Building, Queens' College, The Mathematical Bridge, Little St. Mary's Church, Peterhouse, The Fitzwilliam Museum, Charles Darwin's House, The Little Rose Pub, Pembroke College, Free School Lane, The Cavendish Laboratory, Gonville & Caius College, Michaelhouse, Trinity College, St. John's College, The Round Church, Magdalene Bridge, Magdalene Street, Castle Hill, and Cambridge Castle Mound.

The "Newton apple tree" is in the garden of Woolsthorpe Manor, his family home in Lincolnshire. During the Great Plague of 1665, Cambridge University closed. Newton went home and supposedly worked on his gravitational ideas. The original tree died and was uprooted, but another one was planted on the same spot. It was there when I visited years ago. It's now a National Trust property.
