My travel trailer has a fairly small water tank so I made room to carry an extra fresh water tank in the back of my pickup truck. I have gone as long as 10 days before I ran out!

Try Sanidumps.com Website that lists locations of free and pay dump and water fill locations across the US. On last summers 110 day trip to Alaska we only paid once ($5) to dump or fill the fresh tank. Places for dump and water: city and town visitor centers, certain gas station brands, city sewage facilities, Cabela's (sporting goods chain), highway rest
We will keep 1 or 2 gallon jugs of water to use in the toilet, instead of runner the pump and saving water draw from the tank. Since the gray tank will fill up first, we will pour dish water collected in a Rubbermaid tub from dish washing dishes, and pour it down the toilet. Sometime we will pour it outside, but some parts of the country even gray water should not be disposed that way. Yes, we use paper plates and bowls.
Water tank size ( and gray & black) is something that for us, can be a deal killer in any RV purchase. In our 26' tt we have a 53 gallon fresh. Some RV trailers might be 25 or 30, where high end travel trailers might be 60-80 gallons like Arctic Fox (Northwood) or Outdoors RV.

I was wondering what businesses would say about the water even when asking. Maybe I'm just shy. But, have you ever had anyone give you an issue or are most businesses pretty accepting. I would think about tipping them maybe $5 as a thank you at least.
