UNVEILING BABY NEO'S NEW EARS POST SURGERY | Unexpected Results!!!

On Feb. 10, 2022 Neo had a successful Cochlear Implant surgery and today we finally get to see Neo's new ears. When our baby boy was born we found out that he was profoundly deaf and hearing aids would never be enough to help him have access to sound, and therefore would not be able to hear. During his cochlear implant surgery we found out that the CI works and now we can't wait for activation day, when we finally get to experience Neo's first time hearing. Prior to learning about Neo's deafness, we had no idea that cochlear implants existed, our hope is that Neo's hearing loss journey will inspire other parents during this process and provide insight as to what you can expect when your baby is implanted. We want to thank you all for being so incredibly supportive during this process, we will continue to advocate for the Deaf and hard of hearing community, although Neo will be able to hear with the help of the Cochlear implant, in our hearts Neo will always be our sweet boy who was born Deaf and can hear now. We love your Neo!

You can tell how well you raise your kids by how well they behave. I can't believe that Neo didn't throw a bigger fit when you put the drops in his ears. Also how Abella kept asking for approval once she was given the cake.

I’ve had a cochlear implant since 2007. Once we removed the bandage I felt so much better:-). Don’t worry about his ear- it’s not loose :-) they make an incision behind it. He will heal up quickly and every child I know who got implants early has great results. I was hearing for most of my life and went deaf as an adult. Voices sound just the same to me as they used to. It took a few weeks until that was true but now 15 years later I think my hearing is about 85%
People might tell you to stop using sign language but I think that it’s really good if you do both. There’s times when his battery might go dead or in the bathtub or in a noisy situation he Might do better with some signs

The scars will fade! I’ve had 4 surgeries on my ENT area, including one where I had incisions right along the back of my ear (they had to open the area and taped my ear to my nose while digging around). Children are so resilient and the future is bright for Neo. All the best!

I cannot even begin to imagine how hard it is for Cristal and Niko to look at those deep scars on their baby boy. I know it'll heal back to as if nothing happened, but this right now is so painful to even me, watching this. Neo's such a strong baby. Heal soon, Baby Neo ❤️

I was literally in tears with Cristal when she took the bandages off, the way Niko was looking at Cristal while she had to do the drops my heart broke I can’t begin to imagine how hard it is to see your baby have to deal with that and you have to do that to him at the same time♥️♥️♥️you’re all in my prayers
