Just found the manual and it seems the light flashing is saying "excessive force" or "over temperature", if it I could find a moment where it blinked 9 instead of 6 times.

Also says to start in one (1) speed then more to (2) speed... For metal work (but the application method could be the same):

"Maintain a speed and pressure which allows cutting
without overheating the bit. Applying too much pressure
will:
• Overheat the drill;
• Wear the bearings;
• Bend or burn bits; and
• Produce off-center or irregular-shaped holes"

Setting is 1 for this job, not 2, misses needed torque in this setting

strange, i wouldnt think the battery size has anything to do with the performance . Just the runtime. but maybe I am wrong. kinda disapointing. wonder how this compares to the full size similar drill.?

I hate to say it, but my Dewalt DCD777 might beat the Ryobi, and it’s one of the oldest brushless Dewalt drills on the market.
