Hey, I'm currently studying for the fe exam. I'm graduated in Civil Engineering from a foreign university and got accredited from the NCEES fortunately. My question is... if I get my EIT from on state board (Connecticut), Do I still being an EIT and other states (like new york for example)?

I live in California. It's not required to have an engineering degree and you can just take the FE exam and get state certified. I have two colleagues that left IT and became engineers by doing this.

I want to do the same thing. I was wondering though: Will the PPI courses would teach me enough to pass the exam with no prior engineering experience?

i've heard some states let you take the PE, before you get the experience required to be a PE. so you can get the ABET degree, take the FE, then the PE, then get the experience after, and then you can get the PE certificate. i think i read that oregon is a state like that.

but also that different states have different requirements for maintaining your PE, like if you need continuing education or not.
