You need jack stands always. The scissor jack is only for changing tires not for working under.

This is exactly how my husband died 10 years ago.He was unfortunately alone and was not found till it was too late. I miss him terribly and am so grateful this family had a good outcome. Cherish the ones you love and use jack-stands! RIP Jeremy Porter ❤

I met teenage girl whose father and older brother died together, pinned under the same car in their own garage. She ran around, doing anything to avoid going home. Her mother was a broken shell. This happened in the 70's before grief counseling and support existed.😢

That happened to my Dad and my Mom lifted the car up off of him so he could crawl out! I was going to say she was alone, but God's grace was with her.

Scissor Jack, sloped driveway and no jack stands. He is unbelievably lucky

Trusting a scissor jack alone is a wild gamble

About 65 years ago my older brother was working on a 42 Chevy, he used to restore old cars, I was getting ready to get in the shower and I heard him asking our mother to get in the car and step on the clutch, he had the car jacked up, the minute she did, the car fell on him, I was only 10 my mom and I tried to lift the car off of him to no avail, this was before 911 was instituted, thank god one of his best friends called on, y a few minutes later, he ran several blocks and jsckec the car up, my brother nearly died, he had a server concussion and was in the hospital for a month, this man was very lucky, as was my brother.

My girlfriend in highschools brother got pinned under her car while working on it and passed away. He was alone and pulled the car off the cinderblocks onto himself. Never work alone if you have to put your torso under a car and never without a level surface and adequate jack stands

This could have been so tragic for that new family just starting out. So happy for them. So happy for the unborn child that didn’t lose their father.

My uncle passed away 6.17.2024 due to the jack slipping and the car crushed him in the parking lot in Phoenix. It’s a terrible tragedy! Glad this guy is safe.

Just look at how much she adores him, very lucky man, not only because he's alive but has got people who care about him dearly

This happened to my husband except it was a car that was literally like two inches from the ground so the entire weight of the car was on him and he blacked out basically immediately and didn't have oxygen to his brain for like ten minutes and got a tbi. He'll never be the same, jacks fail, don't trust it. The doctors in the trauma unit were amazed however that he even survived. He had no broken bones, just tons of bursted blood vessels and bruising. When the doctor asked him how he thought he lived he just said "My God is good". Ain't that the truth.

That exact same thing happened to me. (Small Single Woman, here, working on my’89 FIAT) I lived in an apt complex so when I started screaming for help, 2 men showed up pronto and easily lifted up & held my FIAT up until I was free. Phew. Love FIATs. ( & thanks guys ) 😻🥰😻
