PINK FLOYD says Have A Cigar

Pink Floyd are some of the greatest songwriters on the planet. In this video, we'll listen to their track, "Have A Cigar", from the album, "Wish You Were Here." The lyrics and music were written by Roger Waters from the perspective of a record executive. He offers the boys a cigar, pretending to be their best friend. "You're never gonna die and the world is gonna love you" ,he says.....however, in secret the suits just want to profit from Pink Floyd's popularity and sell 69 trill worth of albums.

The music industry is different now....but it's still about making profit. That's not a bad thing. If you can't figure out how to make money as an artist, you won't be able to continue making music and no one will hear it. Make money, just don't loose track of your artistic integrity. To help develop your musical voice, check out my full music theory course below. You'll learn how to make dorian sounds like David Gilmour and write killer riffs and solos. Gilmour truly is something special when it comes to guitar. He can play something so simple, yet so unbelievably powerful. great examples are the solos in "hey you" and "don't leave me now." Especially the latter. Incredibly simple solo, but is full of emotion.

One of the best song of all time. Pink Floyd are genius. Credit to “accidental vocalist” in this masterpiece owned to Roy Harper

Have a cigar and welcome to the machine are kind of under appreciated

Man, nothing like a Top 3 Pink Floyd album, porbably Floyd's best album if we're considering the context as to why the album exists.

God, it's so good, from how the way they pay homage to Barret leading to their sorrowfull goodbye on Shine On You Crazy Diamond, the passion of Water's lyrics and Gilmours playing in Wish you Were Here, to the gritty imagery displayd in the middle with Welcome to the Machine and Have a Cigar.

It's so good that even Welcome and Cigar are still relevant to the industry and just, society as a whole even to this day.

Mr @Shred, you got me rambling at 3:23 am about one of my favorite albums of all time, well played good sir.

I love how Roy Harper just hung around the studio when they asked him to sit in. He absolutely nailed it! Roger is still sour about it. At least, that’s what he says

Smoke two joints before I smoke two joints, and then I smoke two more. But always, always, have a cigar.

Don't know who mixed up "Have a Cigar" with all these videos but there is no real official video for "Have a Cigar"!!
Also the lyric "which one's pink" actually happened to Roger Waters from one of those record execs that pretend to know & Love the band!

Only one of two Pink Floyd songs with a guest vocalist, in this instance Roy Harper. The other was Clare Torry on The Great Gig in the Sky. Actually 3 if you count the most recent single Hey Hey Rise Up, but that's not on any albums and only includes David and Nick. Greatest band of all time, in my opinion. I don't even know if they can be classed just as a band though and more of a multi-sensory musical experience.
