O Heavens, this Adagio is out of this world. Just watched this full-lenght and felt the unique atmosphere very strongly. Bruckner really is "my man" and Celibidache to me his finest ambassador.

There is all the eternal and perfect light of God, in this Brucknerian interpretation of Celibidache and the Berliner !

What I like in Celibidache is his quiet gesture even in the strongest moments. Of course He was not always like this. But it is good to see that he didn't passed away as the same young conductor he was once. Another conductor with simple gesture was Abbado. It doesn't look like they are willing to be the main atraction of the concerto.

Regreso de Celibidache a la BPO, después de casi 40 años, con un éxito arrollador. La versión es superlativa; orquesta y Director en su máxima expresión.

i have noticed that 99% of the negative and nasty comments and criticism comes from untalented musicians or wannabe musicians or music lovers that failed to study music or professional mediocrities who never post their performance at their youtube channels. isnt that weird? but it makes sense. its easier to pass criticism siting in your sofa probably drinking a few beers than committing your entire life studying and performing music. it is always the mediocrities that wish to have a saying in this life (Bertrand Russel)

It sounds really grand, deep and "reich"(rich in german) with this tempo and interpreation.

Sergiu Celibidache was to Bruckner what Wilhelm Furtwangler was to Beethoven.

It is true that for some students of music, the superficial syntax/structure itself is perhaps meaningless than that of the essence which was formed from the 'playfulness' of inspiration.

Ya sabía q est registro era después de la muerte del maestro Karajan. Él no cedía su orquesta a alguien q habló mal de él.

Why did the Berlin Philharmoniker perform in the Konzerthaus and not in the Philharmonie?

An exasperating slowness. You shouldn't conduct an orchestra like that. Furtwangler and Celibidache were recognized as directors of pause and slowness. Furtwangler doesn't always do it. Giulini is somewhere between the two for the great romantics. But as for the Romanian director, he is the epitome of unacceptable: what a way to exaggerate. That's why orchestras like the Berlin Philharmonic chose individuals like Karajan and others. You just can't turn the orchestra into a barely moving hippo just because the conductor <<likes>> it that way. I agree with Celibidache on one thing, you have to <<think>> the notes. Alright. But you must play the notes in public, not think the notes in public. That is too wrong. Interesting results obtained by Celibidache but for the ears and patience of very few.

Terrible interpretation. Celi was an overrated conductor, already the rehearsal was very bad. How can you ask to an orchestra to start out of nothing, instead of beginning after the conductor's upbeat? For the listener in the audience this makes no difference at all!
