10mm for me. It’s a decent defensive round and the good stuff is good as bear loads given where I am.

You said caliber not round. .22 caliber covers vast amounts of rounds

5.7 it's good for all the business you need taken care of

i choose .308 because its just a nice juicy round and pretty versatile and its fun as hell to shoot. If were talking practicality, definitely 9mm or 12 gauge

5.7 carries a decent punch and can be used in larger pistols and PDW's, while also maintaining some rifle round characteristics.

7.62x39 is king.
From a micro Draco tiny package
To an RPK to a Ruger American ranch with 1MOA precision.
Perfect. 👌

40 or 45 lc enough knock down power for a pistol and a rifle

5.7, easy. Semi cheap but good in rifle and handgun platform

10mm. Just because I go hiking a lot in the mountains and the woods.

Imma have to go with .45 cause i hate 9mm and I dont want to have my pistols chambered in 9mm or 5.56 but I do love 5.56 so .45 is the best choice for me

.45 cause I can get multiple handguns in it from revolvers to semi, find me a Thompson and go WW2 on somebody in Sub machine gun, and finally go back old school and get a 45 Colt lever action to take down some distance targets.

30 caliber. Never specified you had to choose one cartridge, so that leaves me with every 7.62, .308, 30-06, 30-30, 300 blackout, .30 carbine, and many more of my beloved fudd rounds.

If I have to choose a cartridge: .308 or 30-06.

.44 Mag. Sounds dumb, but it would cover wheelguns AND lever-actions and would be powerful enough to bring down most game.

.30 carbine or 500 magnum. Both calibers can be found in handguns and rifles and are effective in both. Leaning more towards .30 carbine for the semi-auto capability.

300blk or 10mm, I can't decide. The load variety is close

.357 . Can run it in both a pistol and a rifle with all the options of .38 as well. My backup is .22mag for the same reason .

7.62 mm
For:
- automatic rifle, range up to 500m.
- semi rifle, range up to 800m
- bolt rifle, range up to 1, 100m
- long revolver or front magazine pistol(modern version of broom handle pistol)

It's use by soldiers, plenty of stock.
Using rifle, good penetration against vegetation (nature cover)

.22 because it's cheap, I'm more or a range person than self-defence, and it's pretty quiet compared to other rounds

.45colt. Can be loaded to 450 foot pounds of energy for handguns or up to 2000 for rifles (stronger than 5.56). Unironically gives the most versatility.
