After the terrible incident involving Rubens Barichello, it was already a terrible start to the weekend, and the next day the Formula 1 world was stunned by the tragic death of Roland Ratzenberger, and only a day later Ayrton Senna died during a race.

I can't express my feelings everytime I see a video that tells about Erik Comas tried to save Senna after Comas' crash two years earlier. That man has such a huge respect

Imagine witnessing your friend's death and someone telling you it's your turn in 24 hours

The only time I've ever been truly shaken by the death of a person I had never met.

I Miss Schumacher not being around the F1 paddock. We deserved to have Senna and Schumacher battling for years to come.

At Christmas this past year, my ten year old son gave me a picture of Ayrton Senna as a gift. Upon opening it, I felt the emotions of that day. No gift has ever hit me so hard. Senna was my idol.

A friend of mine was there who worked for lotus and he went white and didn't say a word when you asked him about it.
Ayrton I did know as he's a human just like us and not unreachable, despite what some of you say.
He came out to visit friends whom he knew when he worked for lotus, back in the early 80s.
Me and a friend played tennis and he often had a go on my RC Tamiya stadium blitzer truck.
He last visited us here in Norfolk UK Jan 8th 1994.
I was 13.
For reference it killed a spectator, they later died in hospital after being hit by jj leito rear wheel.
I got straight from someone who was there despite what it says on wiki, as there was a big cover up with a lot of things involving that race in that country.
By rights it should not of took place because Roland Ratzenbeger did actually die on this track. And by italian law, the race should not have taken place.

So many years have passed, yet the tears still fall. It was a horrific weekend. The race should never have been allowed to continue after Roland's fatal crash. Then we lost Ayrton...

Erik Comas, a truly touching gesture from one man to another. Just as Ayrton had done for him. That's the true kindness, and showing of a huge caring heart.

Rest easy Legends. Forever on the winner's podium and one lap ahead. X 😢

30 years later to the day.
We all still miss you terribly Ayrton.
Rest Easy.

Great video! One tiny correction though: Barrichello's injuries were not as small as reported by most media. In a brazilian podcast he said that when he swallowed his tongue he ended up dying for 5 minutes until paramedics were able to revive him. He also had sequelae from the concussion to the point that he was unable to keep his memories from that whole week and even though he carried Senna's coffin during his funeral, any memory he had from these events were gone, in such a way that he's only able to recall these events by watching recordings. Cheers and congratz for the video!

I was only 8 years old at the time. I remember the race very well (I've been watching F1 since I was 6 years old). Never has Brazil felt the loss of someone so much. Senna was a big philanthropist here, he supported several social programs. Everyone stopped. Everything stopped here...
Excellent video!

My mom was a huge Senna fan. She was starting labour during this race, senna hit the wall like that and labour stopped.
Next day i was born. Senna made my birthday a day later.
I am, and she still is a big fan of F1 :)

Saw this race live. Two deaths in one race. Unbelievable!

Rest in peace, Ayrton Senna, Murray Walker, Dr. Sid Watkins. Each and every one of you is a legend.

I cried for days, he was my idol and my inspiration to become a racing driver . Wet weather master, and genius, his heel and toe, and left foot breaking was incredible

I was Senna's fan in my childhood in China. There were not a lot of ways to watch live so the best way is to keep watching TV until there are sports news and I can see the highlights. I still remember the day of his death, that I was shocked by this sad news. As a 9 year old boy, I cried. He's a legend of F1! 30 years later, I spent time with my wife to watch all the videos about Aryton, and he IS the one to respect!
