Sometimes though osha enforces and fines people for not wearing a safety vest while clearing a drain valve in an abandoned parking lot. That's why people hate them.

Speaking from experience, if you work in low level “construction” (or that type of physical labor) OSHA is there to hassle you to make sure everything is up to par. They’re basically the Lt. outta college tryna tell a Sgt how the field works.

In Switzerland we have SUVA (some sort like OSHA) and they regularily update their guidelines. Last year they put in, that you may only climb up a ladder more than a meter if you wear a safety harness or railing (to prevent falling off) otherwise you have to build scaffolding for working higher.
This had the effect, that the janitor at the school I worked wasn't allowed to change lightbulbs in the classrooms anymore, since the ceiling was too high to reach...

As I’ve heard before each one of osha’s rules are written in workers blood (not literally). Because it took many peoples injuries and deaths to put up those rules in the first place.

At the end even if it’s annoying, but be thankful that people fought for em.

I feel like the reason being is the osha safety typically is in favor of preventing liability to the employer rather than safety of the employee.
Employers will skimp on equipment and blame you for getting creative

I'm not a union squatter or a "stick it to the man" kinda guy but osha 100% especially if you work in a risky place. When I worked for FedEx they were asking some crazy shit of us and I think osha genuinely saved a lot of us
