Excellent and very interesting Topic !
My wife and I use to travel to the Philippines to visit her family frequently before the virus hit. It’s best to know all the money rules before you go . Customs can be a very confusing place in Manila.
Thanks for the video, another excellent job !

Thank you so much that is very helpful. I've seen in the news where some people were going through and they didn't report it with TSA
So now I understand why it would be confiscated because they need to be able to prove cash😊👍

Great Video. I used to travel all over the world but glad I don't need to anymore. Credit cards and currency exchange was my vehicle for purchases. I travel 100 miles a day for work now and would like to bring it down to 25 and less as I get older. One thing I was reviewing was bringing silver or gold coins with me across borders. If it is 24kt gold, Canada allows it to move freely but anything less and there is a tax. As you mentioned, America allows you to bring $10K of currency and it was my understanding I can carry 10, 000 $1 American Eagles on the trip ($10K face value) however, the destination country may have a different treatment to the silver currency. I never found an answer. So I though Canadian maple leaf gold, American Buffs, AGEs and, ASEs was a good means to travel with other funds within the law. Interesting video. The only issue with crypto is once it is moved and converted, a taxable events occurs. Please continue the great work.

Hey Bald guy-you should tell people to check the arrangements for any country they maybe transiting through. If they leave any secure area maybe for a hotel then they have to follow that country's rules too!

Thank you for the video, super informative! Maybe I missed it, but where is the best place to store a large sum of cash while travelling? Is it unadvisable to keep it in a carry-on? Should I try to keep it on my person at all times?

Great video mate, but what about if you travel with large family. How much does each person can carry with them? Or 10k per family not per person? Thank you in advance mate

What about a video on travelling with gold coins? In particular how are the limits calculated - from weight and spot price or the value printed on the coin (I am thinking of brittanias here with a face value of £100 - how many could I legally take out of the UK?). NB: I have receipts for all the coin purchases so everything is above board.

So I am leaving the US with $9, 500 so I don't have to declare it. But the country I have a layover in Vietnam and their limit is $5, 000 or more. Do I still need to fill out a form? My final destination (Thailand) allows $20, 000 into the country without being delcared.

I've heard in some foreign countries when a person is carrying a large sum of money that an agent will relay a description of them to someone on the outside to relieve them of their stash. Have you heard of this happening?

I'm traveling next month to country on US dollar. and is CASH based. Very few places accept even debit cards.ATM's are redily available but with petty crime on the rise, Once there I'm going to have to develop a strategy to safely withdraw. Question: $10, 000 . or less, cash, I dont have to declare, correct ? Its over 10, 000. Going into foreign country (and $10, 000 is number I've heard) if under I dont have to declare, correct???
Its over 10, 000. going and coming. Tks in advance for clarifying. I'm traveling to Ecuador.

Thanks. You didn't mention going through airport security, since you cannot wear a money belt. Putting the cash on the conveyor belt while you get tied up with TSA in the xray machine puts your money at risk of being stolen. To me, this risk is valid, no matter what amount -- $500, $1000, etc. Any suggestions?

I hope I didn't miss this, but are you saying that you can carry as much gold, silver, or cash as long as you carry documentation as to how you obtained it? I don't have anything that you mentioned. I would have to print bank and brokerage statements to show that I had the money and then the receipts for any precious metals purchases, which I have kept thankfully. Do you think that would suffice? I think you are in a very good place right now. The western world is about to experience severe pain. One more thing; you said in a video that we could reach out to you via email, but I didn't see that listed anywhere. I'm a bit guarded on what I say in the comment section.

What they dont mention are gold coins. The one ounce American gold eagle is great. At $1900 value per coin (currently), you can carry many without worry. The coins can easily be sold for cash anywhere in the world.

What do the customs people do with the declaration information?

What would customs do once you declare your money? Will they tax you or delay your flight?
