Reply to PDHQ re my concern about the My Documents folder on my desktop PC’s hard drive and it may be around the word TRANSFER in your explanation. For me there is some confusion about the word usage, at least as we address the file structure in Windows. I have, more often than not, seen file manipulation suggestions that use the word TRANSFER where the meaning is meant NOT to fully TRANSFER the folder or file(s) so that they literally disappear from their original home on the hard drive, i.e., a CUT AND PASTE action, but that the describer of the action really means COPY AND PASTE and that action leaves a copy intact and readily identifiable (as if nothing had happened) in its original place. As the tutorial seems to show, there is a CUT AND PASTE event that, in effect, cleans out, i.e., empties my MY Documents folder completely and by CUTTING the entire collection of subfolders and files in my My Documents files, leaving that major folder completely empty with all its former contents now TRANSFERRED to the Sync Folder. Is my interpretation of your methodology and results correct? If My Documents are all in the Sync Folder, will they be in the conventional Windows file structure to which they had originally belonged? Will the files, uploaded or not in the likely very lengthy process be accessible whichever “state” they’re in? And will I be able to add, say, 100 new photo images from Lightroom from a just-done photo shoot and/or a few recently changed or new documents to the Sync File with a click of my mouse buttons, but still be able to view and modify them, if appropriate, easily on my PC?

I’m not sure what the demonstration is supposed to indicate when it says to make sure one’s “My Documents” folder is empty as part of the installation and initial upload. The My Documents folder is the last folder I want to see empty on my desktop PC.

Hi, do you know if Sync compresses data into zips for recovery purposes? I would be using it for photography RAW file back-ups mainly, with the occasional TIFF and PSD, but am concerned what might happen to image quality if the service packages them before download? Thanks

Have downloaded it and find very difficult to use. Can not even open a folder.
