Tubular Bind Off In the Round for k1, p1 Ribbing

preview_player
Показать описание
The tubular bind off is a neat way to finish 1x1, or k1 p1, ribbing. This sewn bind off is essentially the same as the Kitchener stitch and creates a stretchy edge with an invisible transition between the right and wrong side of your knitting.

One of the best pieces of advice I've ever heard for doing Kitchener/ tubular bind off is to memorize the phrase "knit, off, purl; purl, off, knit." That's helped me a TON!

I have watched many of the instructional videos for this bind off, but for some reason it has finally clicked watching this one. Thank you. I plan to use it on my sweater hem when I finish it.

VERY CLEAR INSTRUCTION - & I say this from the perspective of an advanced beginner who gets easily frustrated when advanced knitters demonstrate techniques quickly - as if all in their audience are at THEIR level of expertise. Thank you!

Best video I’ve seen to demonstrate this technique. The view os close up, framed well in video and done in a light colored yarn. I also like how you explained why it works.

This is super helpful and the best video I've found on this, but FYI I needed closer to 5x around the yarn! 4x just BARELY made it

You are an excellent teacher. I tried following this cast off method on many videos but you have the best process to help me understand and execute this finish. Thank you.

Mercy. @thechillydog, I bow down in thanks😂 In actual tears of gratefulness for your tutorial. They've taken me to another level of happiness. Soo confused by other videos. But yours are just stunning in their simplicity and clarity. Deeply grateful. You have saved my skin!😅

I have a feeling, when you need to take a purl stitch off, that second purl (from the back to the front) ... just pull it on through, and then push it from the front, instead of finagling trying to make that turn. Mind you, I've never done this stitch, but it sure is great. I've saved it for later use. Thanks for being one of my go-to knit instructors.
