Hey everyone, it’s Justin Mott! Today, I'm taking you behind the scenes of a whirlwind commercial shoot I did for Restoration Hardware in Saigon, Vietnam. I’ll walk you through everything from the gear I used (lots of Leica!), the fast-paced setup, and the challenges of capturing a marble artisan at work. This shoot was intense, with just 24 hours to prepare, but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to work with such a great client. Watch as I share my favorite shots and insights from the day.

Fabulous insights Justin. Makes this eighty year old art director/photographer want to wind back the clock, but hey, I’m happy and privileged to be here. Keep on keeping on✌️🇦🇺 #lovemyQ

It's clear you're working on instinct in these fast moving shoots that you can't plan ahead of time. Fascinating insights into not only your way of working, but also how the subject's knowledge (eg wet vs dry) changed the images for the better. Oh and the real time feedback from your client half a world away ... no pressure dude! You covered it all with aplomb. Thanks for sharing the entire process

These are my favorite videos from you Justin! Soooo good and love seeing this BTS! Appreciate all this content you put out. The marble wet vs. dry was sooo cool to see the difference

"The King of The Stone Age" across the fold shot is magnificent! Absolutely perfect.

I've done a few rush editorial shoots. One time I found myself in a cypress swamp along the Mississippi River neck deep in alligators swimming by. Yeah, I'm a Louisiana boy who got the job because I know gators and I was the only lunatic who would do the shoot. I turned down a higher paying shoot to do this particular shoot because it was more interesting. I love shoots where I have no idea what will happen. One day, my obituary will be very interesting. 😂

I'm curious why you only had one days notice? Surely this kind of shoot would usually be scheduled well in advance?
