KaiW had a great trick with focusing a rangefinder: always start at infinity so you only have to focus in one direction. This stops the wobble back and forth focusing

This might be a dumb question. But do you disregard the focus patch when zone focusing? I am assuming the focus patch when lined up it the optimal focus distance. I see a lot of videos about zone focusing, but none of them speak on the focus patch when zone focusing…

I fully agree with Brian! You should start at Infinity all the time! . If not you are focusing around and miss the Shot. Okay, this is not important for not moving Objects. But for Instance, when you want to cover several distances (which brings us to Zone-Focussing) you should acquire a different Approach! Does this makes Sense for you?!...

Panasonic and Leica have a tie-up. Leica uses this focusing tech on their cameras.

Panasonic is basically using a computer to execute this exact focussing technique to Autofocus on their Lumix line of cameras
