I've been taking these videos and the newsletter very seriously, and in these 6 weeks I have found the strength to forgive and reach out to my birth-mother whom I haven't spoken to in 14 years. We met for coffee yesterday, and yes it was very awkward. No matter what the future has in store, I did the impossible and the trajectory of my life will forever be altered by that. I share this personal experience with you as thanks - for I don't think I could have done it on my own.

I am nearing 60. I don't even know how to use the drill or hammer a nail properly. This week, tho, I start construction classes.
In the past, I relied on another to do such things. They didn't get done. Now I will learn the skills to help myself. Timely topic, thank you!

I can't express enough how much your calm voice and clear and slow philosophical explanations are helping me with depression.

This is so enlightening. How many times do we feel like a failure because it takes us so long to achieve something. I wish I heard this many years ago.

My grandmother taught me how to sew. Recently she passed away. Overwhelmed by grief, I thought I sew something to honor her. Needles to say without her being next to me helping me the blouse I wanted to make didn’t come out the way I wanted. Next day I purchased more material and tried again, through a lot of frustration ready to give up, but my determination to accomplish something difficult was worthwhile I wanted to succeed, it was not only for me but for my grandmother. I could feel her spirit guiding me, after over a month of trying, I finished the blouse. I must admit some of the best moments usually occur when you find yourself so involved in an activity that nothing else seems to matter. The optimal state of inner experience is so enjoyable that hours go by without noticing. It was impossible to stop whatever activity you are immersed in awakens something hidden far away in the depths of your soul.

I don’t despair from coming back to philosophical learning, even if I drift away for a while. Feels like home. I will be reading the newsletters!

This is the most important one (for me) of these talks. What to do in life, what to do. What brings joy. That first.

Thank you very much for bringing us these videos. The struggle is real when we start practising these life transforming stoic virtues. It will be great if you walk us through your journey and struggles you faced initially and how you persisted in practising what you absorbed from the books of the great stoic masters.

This topic is really eye-opening

I had to think and truly ask myself, "Do I do this? Just give up on things? I don't think I do..."

But I realized that I do. Maybe not in an obvious way in the front of my awareness, but I do. I have given up on things I wanted to pursue, with an "excuse" as my defense

I'll take time to ponder this more 😊

This sounds a great advise for my Motherhood experience. It's just the most difficult job I ever had. 8 year of this and it's such a transformation of growth filled with a lots of failure but also love, unconditional. love! Always learning from mistakes, daily mistakes but getting back up is the most amazing feeling even on during those days that we just want to quit. Thank you so much!

This resonated a lot with me, I injured my foot doing Muay Thai and have had to spend a lot of time doing repetitive physio exercises and practicing kicks over and over again to get the muscle memory back. Sometimes it can be painful and frustrating but some days I will detect a tiny improvement in my range of motion or technique and know that it’s worth it to continue chipping away at it, and the healing will happen in its own time.

I always seem to need the reminder of this message about prioritizing the process over the outcomes. Though I consider myself a LT thinker & relatively disciplined, I am a product of my impatient generation. Thank you for the reminder.

Thank you! 🙏 ❤
Even if they make you to despair, because you care, never stop to improve yourself. Because, otherwise you won’t even be able to live and love the beauty of life.

I love this topic, it is something new you cover. It made me look differently on certain things. Languages's example really made me think. Gosh now I love the idea of doing it just for its own sake. It's Liberating.

You're amazing, I have had a little rough last year and first half of this year and I am trying to get back to my hobbies and skills, I loved to learn new skills but I kind of fell off last year due to emotional and mental pressure from my toxic work environment, but I changed it a few months ago and last few months were spent coping and recovering but now I have the peace and stability to work towards my hobbies. So i will get back into it. Thank you so much for the inspiration!

Thank you for this video. I have been ill for a past few days. I hope i can get back to my work soon. I was almost falling asleep listening your voice but thought to write a comment. It was really encouraging. Sometimes, when i do what i love, i don't think about the fruit.. it's just my passion leads me. But when i am in a threatened environment, i can't give my best but i also know that i should do what is needed. I liked the topic.
