It’s silly. U.S. auto industry lost to Europe and Japan cars several decades ago already.

If the US allows Chinese EV to import without tariffs, Americans could be buying and owning a new Chinese EV for as little as $14, 000 -- and, based on the reviews I've seen on YouTube and elsewhere, Chinese EV have actually become very competitive: they are high quality, safe, full-featured, high tech, and their batteries can fast charge AND travel a HUGE distance with each charge.

Instead, look at the car market in the US right now: car prices are ridiculous. A basic entry-level sedan costs over $40, 000 in the US right now.

Why? There is no Chinese Evs in the US. Where comes the headache if at all?

Not a headache, just competition. Europe, Australia, South America, etc are already benefitting. Ford, GM and even Stellantis have failed to invest and keep up despite unending favorable tax breaks and tariffs on Chinese goods. But Ford and GM can afford stock buybacks, executive raises and bonuses, generous golden parachutes despite failing performances. They just cry and whine and make excuses. Americans need affordable transportation just to get to work and feed their families. If they pass US safety regulations, I'd be happy to fly to Mexico and drive back in a BYD for $12, 000.

EVs are becoming more affordable to everyone, even than gasoline cars... except in the US.

I am so impressed with all the Chinese advanced technologies. My grandparents' grandfather clock bought from 50 years ago still tells precise time with joyful chimes. The world needs reasonably priced good Chinese products.

Economics 101: Competition benefits consumers. Whose headaches are we talking about here? The oligopolies'?

No it isn't. They're not even being sold in the US. Besides, all EV sales in the US are down right now. Cheap China EVs have a tendency to catch fire in China because they use cheap batteries.

Chinese 🇨🇳 electric cars are *heavily subsidized* by many levels of Chinese government. Some people bought them, threw them away without driving, and still made profits.
- That's why there are millions of new cars abandoned by owners across the country.
And this is not an exaggeration.

Chinese "national security" laws require companies, including BYD, *to assist with intelligence gathering.*
- The Chinese government basically knows who is driving, and they can remotely control your car brake system from Beijing.

Chinese electric cars are getting pushback from everywhere.
Batteries in these cars come from the Xinjiang region, where they are produced by:
- coal-fired plants and
- Uyghur forced labor in their production.
