The Matrice 30 series is known to be a powerhouse for industrial drone users worldwide. No matter what your use case is, the sleek, cutting-edge design, lightweight, and innovative feature-loaded drone have quickly made this aircraft one of our favorites.

One of those impressive features is the IP rating. The M30T has a dual rating of 55 for the aircraft and 54 for the remote controller. Since the M30 series launched in 2022, many of you have had enough time to get familiar with this product's importance for industry use.

IP stands for ingress protection, and it is a standard used to define how resistant a device is against dust and water. The first digit in the rating refers to the dust protection, and the second digit refers to water resistance. The second 5 in IP55 tells us that the DJI M30T is rated to be protected against low-pressure water streams from any direction. This means that it could withstand splashes of water, rain, and even a hose down if needed. So if you are flying this drone in less than ideal weather conditions, you can rest assured that it won't be harmed by a little
bit of rain.

The first 5 in the IP55 rating signifies that the M30T is dust-protected. It is not entirely dust-tight like some higher-rated devices; however, it can still resist the ingress of dust to a reasonable level. This is a crucial feature if you plan to use this drone in dusty environments such as construction sites, deserts, or anywhere with airborne particles.

The Matrice 30 series comes with an IP54 rated remote controller. The DJI RC Plus has a dual control mode and is made for drone pilots to collaborate on missions. So when you are on a mission, every second counts. To note, rain, wind, or dust should not ground your aircraft. IP54 is basically the same as IP55 but with a bit less protection. But we do not recommend hosing down the remote controller, although it can withstand the elements to a high degree.

With IP55 and IP54 protection, the Matrice 30 series can easily handle a wide range of adverse weather and temperatures, ranging from negative 4 degrees Fahrenheit upwards to 122 degrees Fahrenheit.
