As an artist, coming from an iPad Pro user to a Tab S9 Ultra, the drawing experience is amazing. The screen is gorgeous and you have so much space to fit all of the tool palettes and still have a big space for your canvas. Also have so many pen options! Im glad i made the switch.

Good review and thanks for calling out PWM! On a side note you may want to look into your mic setup as there is a lot of background noise.

The 11" iPad is in fact NOT 4:3 in aspect ratio. Only the 12.9 or 13 inch version is. The 11" is 10:7 which started in 2018. The current iPad mini (2021) is 3:2. All iPads used to have 4:3 back in the days, but atm there are at least 3 different aspect ratios in the lineup.

As a professional artist and book illustrator for 37 years, I still highly highly think, without a doubt, M4 Tab S9 Pro is better!

Thank you for addressing PWM!! I can barely use my phone because of it, and no one ever talks about it sadly lol.

Samsung is amazing actually. I remember when Dex was first announced, I immediately said I'm never going to use that. Now, I use it everyday. When I was overseas for 8 months and working from a hotel with terrible internet service, I used my phone data and the apps on my phone to work through my PC. It was a lifesaver. At home now, I'm still using Dex every single day. Samsung has some features that make it so that I can't even use a different Android device. It has to be Samsung at this point.

I'm happy to see pwm being recognized but do want to add that temporal dithering/FRC seems to be another huge eye discomfort trigger. It's pixel level flickering, can only check with a microscope and fast camera in slomo

I tried out both the iPad and the Tab S9 series in person. Previously, I used a drawing tablet. Unfortunately, the Tab S9 series doesn’t detect very subtle brush strokes; you have to press the pen tip firmly on the screen to draw.

It's iPad for me because of the aspect ratio. It mimics an A4 size sheet of paper which is the most readable format to human central vision. Anything wider than 4:3 for a handheld tablet spills over into our peripheral vision... yes there is biological science and math behind Apple's design decisions.

Hi Teoh, if I may, could I ask for your opinion on if someone who has not used tablets for art before but wants to start, between the ipad pro or even the air I guess and the Samsung s9. Which of those would be easier to use for art. They both seem to have pros and cons to me. thank you.

hello, thank you for the video! but i'm sorry i'm still cannot decide which ipad do you think i ishould buy. i never buy apple's product before so it will be new for me. i'm an artist, mostly draw anime/manga style and probably will learn animation too. i want to buy ipad because i'm interested using procreate. i mostly draw/work at home, even if i buy an ipad i will only use it at home. i just like its mobility to allow me drawing anywhere instead of sitting for hours in front of my laptop and wacom. i dont have any budget for now, but i want to buy an ipad that will be able to use for a very very long time. do you have any recommendation? thank you! ><

Hii, I'm still confused as I'm new to using tablets, i need to use illustrator, coral draw, clo 3d and procreate ....which would be better choice?

I am not a graphic artist. However, it is amazing that the artist community is giving the best reviews for the 2024 iPad M4!

Agree with much of your comparison, but I find Samsung Dex way better than Stage Manager.

I like to draw on Clip studio paint and I still can't find a way to use something like partial touch rejection on Tab s9 ultra so when the pen tip is close to the screen you cannot press anything and have to lift the pen to press anything😂 I get used to it now but it's very annoying at first. It is never a problem with my old ipad pro tho. If anyone know how to fix this please help.😂

Do you notice any of the "grain" when dimm on dark areas that some people are noticing?
