"Coca-Cola, sometimes war..." My favourite line. :)

Respect to Rammstein. Their criticisms of America here are pretty gentle compared to the criticisms they lay on their own country in Deutschland

The "Mickey Mouse in Paris", in my opinion, is a reference to the fact that they have built a Disney Land in Paris, a city known for its culture, art and history...and now Mickey Mouse.

What they are talking about is how America has made itself the centre of things that tries to dictate to everyone how to behave, live etc. You also see how he says specifically that "this is not a love song, I'm not singing in my native tongue...". They are absolutely correct. Many in other countries are tired of the American influence and perspective.

People seem to confuse being bold with just being honest

This song shows in symbolic form that over the past hundred and fifty years America has regularly poked its nose into the affairs of all other countries in the world and imposes its vision of life and that everyone must live by their rules, while trampling on the traditions, culture and history of their own countries. And the events of the 21st century show that many people from all over world are already fed up with this and patience is already at its limit. I hope America will come to its senses and begin to live thinking about what is happening in their country first and foremost and let other countries live their own way.

Grade 10 History class. Our teacher was talking to us about globalization and how the US's influence can be found everywhere. He then turns on the TV, whips out a burnt DVD, puts it in and it starts playing this video with English subtitles. Lmao. Rammstein fan since

"And if you don't want to dance at the end, you don't know yet that you have to dance."

The videos are all available with English subtitles made by fans. All you have to do is search for it. Has the advantage that you don't miss anything from the video while you're reading.

Using the term "cuisine" when talking about America is kinda bold too... ;)

Hallo from Germany.

This song is about US imperialism. "Die Musik kommt aus dem weißen Haus", means translatet, "the music comes out of the white house", what means, the white house says what to do or not.

"wer nicht tanzen will am Schluss, weiß noch nicht, dass er tanzen muss",
Translation
"Who don't want to dance at the end, don't know, that he must dance."

It means, who don't want to do, what the US government want, will get forced to that. With economic power, or military power of the USA what happened many times.

The chorus sums it all up "We're all living in Amerika! Amerika ist wunderbar!(wonderful in german)"

Basically America soread its influence all over the globe so that native African people are eating American Pizza(An Americanizied meal from another country ironically)
Buddhists are eating Hamburgers(Americanized meal from another country)
And Muslims are wearing American Shoes.

Then the Chorus changes to "We're all living in America, Coca Cola, Wonderbra!"

Which shows how American culture isn't only influencing other cultures, but straight up replacing it (Wonderbra brand was a play on words from German Wunderbar)

And then it turns into "We're all living in America! Coca Cola, Sometimes War!" which shows how not only American culture is spreading but also American Interventionalism and NATO basically giving America a Monopoly on the World and military Deployments.

And at the end it shows that it was all a film studio, to show how the most American Advertising is fake and a lie.

I think they specifically chose the Moon landing because it was possible the biggest Acheivement America has ever acheived, 2nd biggest is probably development of Nuclear weapons.

Also: this came out right after the US invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq. Was faced as a protest song.

The song is from 2004 after Us invaded Iraq etc etc .
And yes it bold . Pointing out America is all over the place and neglegting there own native people etc etc .
The frase " We all living in america coca cola sometimes war " maybe says it all in one more or less .
Damn epic song and typical Rammstein controversial :)

there is a Disneyland in Paris, France which was pretty new when the song came out.
and its a war-term "x stands before Paris"(= a place) for a area, which will be invaded by the attacker soon.
And it wasn´t pretty popular for a long time(Simpsons S2F01)

And USA influence very much, but not always to the better(eating/food)

Mickey Mouse in front of Paris.... Translated that Eurodisney is in Paris and since Disneyworld is such a huge success in America, it would also be a huge success in Europe...
Newsflash it wasn't no matter how much Americans love they Disneyworld.

This whole song is a statement that no matter what the Americans think it's the best for them, then also should be the best for others and should therefore adapt the American way of life.

Now... Freedom in America isn't the same freedom we have in Europe. As one youtuber so delicate described the difference. Freedom in America is towards something. Freedom in Europe is away from something.
