Just the way they captured that "lost" feeling here....I can't even begin to imagine how that must feel. Kinda makes my own battles look absolutely peachy.

I love the continuous close up shot to create a feeling of panic

I went through this many times when my mother had dementia. You just have to show strength and help her while she is breaking down. This is what you do.

What pains me is that she forgot she checked the side door and other doors and tries again in sheer desperation...ono

Those questions she asked him. When are you going to the conference? When's Lydia getting here? ... She already asked him those questions before she found the photo album. :C

I think I'd rather lose the rest of my brains through a hole at the back of my head than to any kind of dementia.

My grandfather died with Alzheimer's. I played for him once. He thanked me for the music and then he asked my mother to tip me well. He had no idea who I was.

That made me cry. I was 13. He died of stomach cancer 2 years later. He looked like a Holocaust corpse.

This makes me sad.

Two of my great aunts have Alzheimer's, and my great grandmother also has it. My great aunt has forgotten how to talk and move, my other great aunt just recently got diagnosed and doesn't know my name, and my great grandmother was taken by the disease. I never really understood what they had to go through until I watched this movie. There is a large chance that my mother might have the disease, which means that I might have it, which just absolutely terrifies me. I would rather just die then go through this.

This gave a panic attack myself. I don't know what having this illness feels like, because I don't have it, but I'd imagine this scene would be like being lost in the woods... which itself is terrifying to me.

Julianne Moore is such an amazing and talented actress. This was a very deserved Oscar win. I was very moved by her performance.
