Getting job means being a likeable person. Qualifications are sometimes set aside for a person who smiles, makes interviewer comfortable and relaxed.

Its tough here as an international student, i used to compare the job market back in my country where if i applied a job atleast companies call me back. Here in canada theres is so little response or more rejection. There is some zoom interviews i got but hr just let me wait in the screen and cancel it. Im lucky that I have family that supports me or else ill be homeless. Also, i face like alot of discrimination too because im asian. Anyways, still fighting to get a job to atleast to not rely too much on my family.

In these cases it is important to have a network and friends. Might not be possible for newcomers, as myself. Other than that, makes sense.

it is all lies, I arrived in Canada for 2 months, there are no jobs at all, zero, and I have high qualifications including 8 years of experience, the only jobs that are available are labour and janitorial

What you say is the rough reality but please keep in mind that not all people, for example, newcomers have connections, and that potential connections are not always willing to help!

Referring is not that easy for someone just landed, we don’t have friends yet, and when you ask someone you know, they all have the same answer: just apply on the website…

Hi, thank you for the very informative video about how to get a job in CA. My question is, when applying for a customer service job like in Starbucks, what type/kind/style of resume should be submitted if all of your experience are for skilled/professional worker? (Current status is student looking for a part time). Thanks in advance!

Hi,
I am a game programmer, recently graduated from college in Toronto. I couldn't find a full-time position as a game dev for a few months now. So, I started to look for a temporary solution like a customer service.
I came across this video and decided to go in person to Starbucks and some other places, unfortunately, everybody sent me to apply online. Do you have anything to suggest in this situation?
Thank you in advance.

I would go to the job interview next time and tell the hiring manager he does not want to miss out on this excellent opportunity to hire me because I'm the best! 😤
