Moment of silence for those who were in the rest room.

I’m an air traffic controller and am the first one pilots report this to. Unexpected turbulence happens often and it can be very dangerous. The flight isn’t at risk of going down but you are at risk of breaking your neck. WEAR YOUR SEATBELTS PEOPLE!

For your own safety, keep your seatbelt on unless you are heading toward the bathroom. I was in severe turbulence over Florida years ago and literally had that “floating out of your seat” feeling — we were met by ambulances and some people were really hurt. You may not like wearing one, but you’ll hate spending your vacay in the ER more.

Notice how they never ask: " is there an influencer or tiktoker on board"

I fly all the time for work. Always, always, leave your seat belt on from start to finish.

This is why it is important to keep the seat belt on

I never remove my seatbelt until I'm getting off flight or going for a quick toilet break.

I am a flight attendant and see passenger without their seatbelts on during the flight. I tell them the seatbelt sign is on for a reason. They roll their eyes at me with disrespect. It's on you if you get hurt. Also, don't ask what happen or what are we suppose to do. Having your headset or earbuds on during our safety announcement is your fault for not LISTENING! It's our job to inform and keep passenger safe but if they don't comply it's on them.

Admittedly, most of my flying experience has been between the islands and you *never* take your seatbelt off it’s not like flying in a stable environment, you are low to the ground with a lot of headwinds and crosswinds coming up from the ocean. It’s very unpredictable. This is also why Hawaiian airlines flight attendants are the calmest in the business.

"Ladies and gentleman, attention all on board. Do we have any trained medical personnel on board, any doctors, nurses, firefighters, bartenders..."

Since airlines/manufacturers wont, FAA needs to increase standards for a stronger locking mechanism so the overhead storage stay closed during turbulence. 30lb bag falling on someone’s head is a problem.

As an airline employee for 36 years, this is why you need to pay attention to the flight attendant’s in front of you before push back while they explain the safety features of their aircraft. This time of year there will be severe turbulence and harsh weather which will be felt at 30, 000 ft depending on the route you are flying. You are to remain seated with seat belt fastened even if the seat belt signed is turned off.

“Ladies and gentlemen, this is your stewardess speaking... We regret any inconvenience the sudden cabin movement might have caused, this is due to periodic air pockets we encountered, there's no reason to become alarmed, and we hope you enjoy the rest of your flight... By the way, is there anyone on board who knows how to fly a plane?”

No cell phones were harmed in the making of this midair emergency.

This happened to me 2 weeks ago coming in from San Diego to Dallas. Ppl were crying and throwing up. Huge wind gusts, violent turbulence, the plane fish tailed when we went into land and the pilot had to take back off at the last second putting us back in the air circling dfw for 30 minutes in the worst turbulence of my life. It was horrible

As a retired flight attendant, whenever I commuted home I never once sat in my seat without my seatbelt. I was too well aware of times when unexpected turbulence took me to me knees while working a flight. I have knee problems to this day.
