Just snagged the new Roxani MH combo off of FB Market for $30. I can’t wait to go and try it out tomorrow

I have a JDM Roxani Powershooter and it's the strongest reel I own. Very happy with it after 5 years of use, still going strong.

Love the dual brake system; I use both white (light setting) tabs on and external dial around 50% and it casts like a dream.

Graphite sideplates and Xcraftic alloy frame are holding great in saltwater.

I use it to cast jigs (10-40g) for bluefish, leerfish, bonito...the biggest fish on it was 30LB leerfish, handled her admirably.

Mind you, the first reel seized up after 3 trips, on closer inspection I noticed that the antireverse bearing rusted beyond recognition; bad luck I guess. But Abu Garcia did awesome customer service and replaced the reel with a completly new one; despite me opening the reel and voiding warranty.

When will manufacturers get that you can't fish saltwater without completly tearing down the reel 3x-4x times a year, clean it and lube it again. You CAN fish it for a year, but the reel is gone. Baitcaster is not like a spinning reel, it NEEDS regular maintenance and that's the biggest difference between the two for me.

I have this combo and for some reason it won’t cast far at all. I’ve adjusted the tension so the lure falls gradually and I messed around with all the brake settings from max to min. No matter what I do I can’t get it to cast anymore than like 15-20 yards. I cast almost double with a weightless senko on my spinning setup. Anything I could try or could it be a defective reel?

Do you know if they sell the reel by itself? Bass pro shop gave me the rod for free for doing a survey and I can't find the reel anywhere.

Crazy what companies are asking for plastic reels. Was gonna get the veritas combo they recently came out with. I figured for 300 bucks surly the reels got an aluminum frame….. Nope
