I need to fix the isolation cage for Lisa and Deric the rescued pet small-clawed otters. The new cage will help wild otters get along with small-clawed otters. Now they want to fight. I also realized that the thousands of rescued otters I had sent to national parks and organizations over the past 12 years had all failed. They could have been killed by wild otters. Even though I was running an NGO to conserve otters, I still had no support from the community. My income is just enough to buy food for the otters and my students help me protect the otters. In short, I need donations to upgrade this cage. It will become a place to keep pet otters and treat wild otters.

These are still young otters and they want to be with their otter family where they would receive physical love from their parents. Sadly that cannot happen so you must provide more than just food. I have seen this need in otters kept as pets in Japan. They are juveniles and want caring and love which their parents would provide. You must provide it.

The one otter is begging for your attention. Do not be so cold. Lack of parental affection negatively effects the otters as they grow.

Maybe you could feed them some appropriate milk (not cow's milk.) They may still have been suckling when they were taken from their parents so they are not fully weened. It might calm them if you do this as you did with Zippy and his sisters.
