How to use the Pet grooming kit on your Dyson cordless vacuum.

The kit includes an XL extension hose, already attached to the Quick-release adapter, and one Pet groom tool.

How to get your pet ready -
Step 1. Place the vacuum and tools in view of your pet, to make them part of your pet's surroundings.
Step 2. Move their feeding bowl near the vacuum cleaner so they get used to it.
Step 3. Next, try vacuuming nearby while your pet feeds.
Step 4. Before grooming, make sure your pet's coat is completely dry, and free of large knots and matted fur.
Step 5. The first time you use the tool, try without your vacuum cleaner attached. Hold down the button on the tool with your thumb to release the bristles.
Step 6. Groom in the direction of the fur. Tip: Rewarding good behaviour can help.
Step 7. When your pet is comfortable with the tool, follow the steps below.

How to use your pet grooming kit -
Step 1. Attach the XL exension hose and groom tool to your vacuum.
Step 2. We recommend using Medium mode or the lowest power setting - depending on the model of Dyson cordless vacuum you own.
Step 3. Hold down the button on the tool with your thumb to release the bristles.
Step 4. Groom in the direction of the fur.
Step 5. Release the button to suck hair and dander into the bin.
Step 6. You may need some help to support your pet, we recommend having someone else on hand to keep your pet comfortable.
Step 7. Pet hair can fill your bin quickly, always empty once it reaches the MAX mark.

I’ve just bought and tried this product today. My cat loves getting brushed and loves the vacuum cleaner, so i thought this would be perfect for us. Well he really enjoyed it but there are some issues. I think that holding the bristles button for brushing is inconvenient. I think button should’ve been working to release the fur but it works the opposite way. Also some fur gets stuck on the bristles and doesn’t get sucked in. So i found this solution to first brush my cat (while holding the button unfortunately) than click the bristle button a few times to help release the fur and than turn my dyson on. This way all fur gets sucked in, and works perfectly. Overall i’m pleased with the product though it still needs some improvements.

I hope Dyson can innovate and improve the vacuum trigger switch which can be pressed down with a latch so that we can use this kit with a single hand

It’s super awkward to use with the cordless version of their vacuums (I have a v12). Need two people to groom your dog using this thing. Gave up after two uses and went back to my manual brushes. This Dyson accessory made me appreciate how easy my manual brushes are to use.

I've always loved this idea, but from an ergonomic point of view, the thumb of the brushing hand would fatigue because you're holding the bristles out and your holding the vacuum up with trigger engaged. for a do as furry and one that sheds as much as a malaumte or husky, i think i'd rather do the brushing manually and clean up the shed afterwards?

Just got this. Badly designed. You have to use both hands to operate this thing 😂 one to hold the trigger at the base and the other for grooming. The groomer you also have to press down constantly for it to work, which is super awkward and uncomfortable. Instead of the other way around that you press it down to release the hair. Whoever designed this and signed it off needs to rethink if they should work in this field

Before you buy any Dyson products, I highly recommend reading customer service reviews. We purchased a particular model at Best Buy, but just 2 months later, it stopped working. After explaining the issue through online chat support, we spent over an hour going back and forth, only to discover that the problem was with the filter, which we needed to replace. Unfortunately, Dyson's warranty didn't cover this issue. Considering the significant investment of $1, 000 for a vacuum cleaner, it was quite disappointing. Lesson learned: it might be best to steer clear of Dyson products.
