Fun fact, no matter what brand of champagne it is it always takes six turns to remove the cage

If it opened that easily, it's not the right temperature and needs to be chilled more. And yes, you shouldn't take the wire cage off after twisting it. 

1. Plant your thumb on the top of the cork with the wire cage still on. Using other fingers to grip around the cork. 
2. Hold the bottle at a 45 degree angle (away from you and others!), and twist the bottle clockwise by rotating it using your other hand at the bottom. 
3. You'll then notice the cork starting to push away from the bottle, maintaining your grip.
4. Continue to rotate until you feel the cork continue to push out more after each turn.
5. While gripping the cork, slightly pull cork away from bottle opening, and you'll hear a quiet release of pressure, like opening a soda bottle.
6. Pour and enjoy!
