Speaking from experience, if you are serious about getting a job, you need to pick tech stacks that are in demand in your work area, not what is trending on YouTube, and not what your favorite YouTube content creators use.

Suggestion number one: You don't need to be a web dev. Choose a field that are not that niche but you're interested in as well, and pursue it. Embedded, AI and gamedev are the fields that will be booming i guess in ~10 years. In my country game dev salaries are sky rocketted right now, don't know about America thou. There'snt any FAANG here so salaries are likely similar, the same for embedded too, a rock solid career path.

I agree that AI is probably the no.1 thing to learn in 2024 for developers.

However, Scott Adams promotes the idea of a ‘Talent Stack’. These are skills that aren’t directly related to your field but in combination with it, greatly increase your value.

You need to do this if you don’t want to remain a developer all your life.

Examples would be skills like presentations & public speaking, some in-depth domain knowledge like banking/accounting, or maybe sales & marketing.

This seems completely counter to just about everything you've said before, that you should focus on keeping your coding skills sharp and choosing a stack (but not chasing stacks, either) and that AI is merely a tool like any other. Why the change of heart/messaging?
