Keep these old school docs on coming Timeline! If you ever add these to history hit then I will get a paid subscription. I'm honestly suprised HH doesn't have an entire library of these older documentaries in their selection.

My great ever so great grandfather was a royalist and died at the battle of Cropredy Bridge. His wife and young son were exiled to Jamestown Virginia

My local town Carmarthen in West Wales was a huge Royalist town. The built bulwarks are still there from then, defensive ditches. On the western side of the town. Think parts of Pembrokeshire was conquered by the Roundheads, landed at Pembroke, Milford Haven and Tenby if I remember right.

Timeline thank you
I always appreciate as much as I can find on educating my mind through the perilous struggles and years that I'm this to me is quite a treat in this part of my life has been harder than ever before where I've lost everything and there's few things I have anymore but one blessing I know for sure is to continue being educated as much as possible this is a blessing regardless of not having home any longer regardless or not always having food regardless and not always having worms
Education is my foremost treasure.
As the world falls apart
Contrast comparison between then and now
Even though schools are provided
Free education
children are not learning
how to readd or to have comprehension.
Un able wright to have understanding. Math
They look at the opportunity of education
as somehow or another this is worse than a sentence of prison.
Once again in these strange times
in the United States of America.
More than ever I appreciate
History and higher education.

24:14 What was Charles trying to say in that dreadful letter? The King needed Rupert to march south. So why didn't he say so in plan language.
34:00 The battle description starts here.

It was Merclesden, which became Marsden after The War of The Roses.
The word comes from a beset hold of land.

Applying a realistic looking beard and mustache is not that difficult. It's a shame the producers of this series didn't see fit to put more effort into King Charles' appearance. I wouldn't be surprised if that's tape holding it on.

We are all taught, the struggles that brought the current governance of the land we live in were in the right. However I find, in the current world, it really didnt matter. Whether a "peoples" decision or some sole rulership, its about power of a few at the top and has changes very little for the common man.

Was the object of the English war to replace the King with a Republic? Well, that was the outcome. Cromwell was a military dictator. Not surprising that Charles 2 was restored to the throne.

The first minute and a half of this video gives the lie to the title "The English Civil War". As is mentioned, the opposing forces included soldiers from Ireland and Scotland - not just England (and Wales).

The series of interlinked conflicts of the period are more accurately called "The Wars of the Three Kingdoms".

So weird the War essentially starts because of Scot Presbyterians and ends up being fought in Ireland
