Diane Downs was convicted and sentenced to life in prison in 1984. This was her punishment for the shootings and attempted murders of her three children. One of them died as a result of her actions. At the time of the incident, Downs told authorities that there was an attempted carjack. Of course, this later proved to be a lie. In 1987, Downs escaped prison and was on the run for a short period of time before being recaptured.

Antisocial personality disorder (ASPD) is a mental health condition. People with ASPD show a lack of respect toward others. They don’t follow socially accepted norms or rules. Through their consequential antisocial behaviors, people with ASPD may break the law or cause physical or emotional harm to the people around them. They may disregard the consequences or refuse to take responsibility for their behaviors and actions. ASPD is one of many personality disorders. Personality disorders affect the way someone thinks and/or behaves.

The Behavior Panel comprises the world's top body language and behavior experts: Scott Rouse, Mark Bowden, Chase Hughes, and Greg Hartley. They analyze behavior and body language in videos of public interest. This non-partisan group aims to educate and entertain, focusing on nonverbal communication, deception detection, behavioral analysis, statement analysis, interrogation, and resistance to interrogation. Through careful examination of gestures, expressions, linguistics, and cultural context, they reveal truths and deceptions. The Behavior Panel is prominently featured on The Dr. Phil Show and has its own show on the US TV Network, Merit Street Media.

When Chase said that he had to go look at cute baby animals after this, I felt that.

He mentions her in the book a couple of times as a prime example of a psychopath and he has seen a lot, so that says a lot.

I am the mother of 4 kids, now all in their 40's. I would have NEVER stopped for anyone with my kids in the car, much less a "shaggy haired stranger" in the middle of nowhere. If I thought someone was I'm distress, I would have called the police from a pay phone and said someone needs help.

That smile she gives the interviewer at the most inopportune moment is one of the most chilling videoclips you've ever shown. As ever, than you all for sharing your exceptional skills. 🙏🙂

Will never forget reading the book, “Small Sacrifices” back in the day and one of the police officers described her demeanor as “verbal vomit“ — she just could NOT stop talking.

Feel so terrible for all of her children living today including the one that was placed for adoption.

Many years ago I was on my way home with my two kids sleeping in the back seat. I saw two men fighting on the side of a road, one with a baseball bat. No mobile phone at the time. I had to drive off instead of attempting to intervene because my kids have to be the most important. I called the police 15 minutes later when I got home. I had more emotion reporting that than DD. I still do.

Mark has a great teaching voice.. the way he puts emphasis on the right words and speed in which he speaks.. voice projecting etc... makes it very easy to follow and understand..

I appreciate you all. It can get a bit dark but very interesting stuff 👍

She rolled her eyes when she said, ""I miss Cheryl."
Cheryl was her least favorite child. She was hyperactive and Diane thought she was ugly. She was not nice to Cheryl, and Cheryl told a neighbor that she was scared of her mother.

Scott talking about psychopathy is one of my favourite things! He seems to have the same fascination with them that I have 😊
P.S. Thanks for taking the extra time to edit the videos into the background of the analysis! Just super helpful!

To Scott's point about the reporter's response to "I keep seeing all the blood coming out of Christy's mouth"....years later the reporter said that in fact, she did have a horrific reaction to the comment & when Diane smirks, the lady actually became nauseous and left the room to vomit. She said it shook her to her core.

Diane downs wants us to believe she rushed her dying children to the hospital, when, in fact, a witness came forward to say he was behind her as she was going to the hospital, his speedometer barely moving off 0.
She is nuts and will never get out.

Scott looks like an eclectic painter from Paris! Perfect incognito disguise from his expert educated experienced (& humerous) reality as a famous behavioral analyst!
Happy " painting " Scott!!🎨🖌😂

That moment after she talks about her daughter reaching for her gave my arms goosebumps, it was like my brain couldn’t comprehend what was happening on her face in conjunction with what she was saying, it made me feel really weird
