Wow, this would be a sight to behold. Unfortunately being from the UK, there is an extreme likelyhood of sodding clouds 😂

1866, 1946 my math is showing that this happens approximately every 80yrs so that would lead me to believe that the next time this event should be happening could be within the next two years 2026 that is keeping with the 80 year interval that previous scientist have stated

This star has a magnitude of 10, so it is only visible with binoculars or telescopes. When it goes nova, it will only have a maximum magnitude of 2, which isn't much. There would be 120 other stars brighter.

It's already happened, We just don't know about it yet, This star is 3000 light years away

The skimming from its' companion must've been slower....makes sense to me, but what do I actually know about it, I'm just a pleb itching to see it.

Thats a type one supernova right because its a white and also binary with consuming the siblings star material

So its a proof for candle effect the perfect method for measuring distance of a star or a system

Seems the estimated 80 year integral would be 2026. . ...

How long would that light take to reach us....after the event?

Sometime in the future the star will inevitably yield a "Supernova". Maybe this time???

1866, 1946. Waiting for in September 2024 and still waiting. Why not 2026?

I live in the northern climes of North America east of the Great Lakes and it's winter. All we're probably gonna see from here is lake effect snow squalls and insane vehicular motorists. But thanks anyway.
