How to Learn Synonyms (You might be doing it wrong)

Synonyms do not always mean exactly the same thing, and this causes English learners to use words that do not mean what they think they mean. I explain what synonyms are and how I recommend learning them. I also explain the meaning of the synonyms COOL and CHILLY, which do not mean exactly the same thing.

I'm Teacher Mike, and I'm an English (ESL/EFL) teacher from the United States.

I'm currently posting 3 videos each week (Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday), so if you're interested in improving your English, make sure to subscribe and turn on notifications so that you see all of my new videos.

I don't believe in those teachers who say "Instead of saying this word, say this advanced word."
I prefer to use a simple and clear language when I speak with my friends. I'm happy we have a Super Teacher like you, Mike.😊😊

To be honestl. I don't learn synonyms the way many people do.😊
I read everyday, so I look it up the new vocabulary I find.
That's the way I learn new words.
Thanks a lot, Mike, for this great advice.😊

- It's chilly outside, so don't forget your jacket.
- The room felt chilly after the air conditioning was turned on.
- The chilly wind made us shiver.
- He has a cool car with all the latest features.
- The ice cream tasted cool and refreshing on a hot day.
- She has a cool personality, always easygoing and relaxed.
- We went for a walk in the chilly autumn air.
- The water in the pool was too chilly for swimming.
- She wrapped herself in a warm blanket to escape the chilly breeze.

Thank you so much .❤️
I once had an argument with an online teacher over a word and he sent me a screenshot of that word as a synonym shown by Google Search. People seem to think that because it is on the list, it MUST mean the same thing. But he used that word in the wrong context. He simply couldn't understand this.
I'm so glad you made this video.
I will share it on.
Cheers.

I like the cover photo of this video here you wear a winter cap and probably a maffler. From today's video I got to know where should I put the similar word.Actually the fact is that it depends on the situations that you mentioned in example sentences. We must be careful when it comes to the point of choosing similar word using in sentences. Thanks for helping us with that beneficial video.

Synonyms are words that mean the same thing or almost the same thing. So it's better to say these words are similar because there is problably a little or important difference between them, and we can not use them in the same situation.
For example: being tired is not the same as being fatigued or exhausted.😊😊
