It's very telling that he remembers COVID as a time being "stuck inside with the same people" stuck on screens.

Perhaps that is the suffering he needed to tell a story, but it's important to note the "suffering" was a CHOICE that he made when others took the opportunity to do something where they emerged on the other side stronger & better for that time.
