Hi, thank you for this amazing tutorial on how to do a short push in table tennis. I learned a lot from your clear and detailed instructions. You made it look so easy and fun. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for this! I’ve been collecting irregular table tennis drills, anything where at least one player isn’t hitting it to the same spot or in a standard pattern. If we warm up with drills like this our games after are much improved.

Very good tips. Thank you very much. So you can also teach the youth very well and it doesn't get boring so quickly. Perfect!

I think penhold players will have a big advantage in this game, as the grip can specialize in the short game heavily above shakehanders

Nice video guys, i use this alot in my game and it's used alot at the lower league level. I'm hoping to improve the attack side of my game, at the moment i'm used rubbers which i'm told are too hard given my current skillset (Xiom omega v tour on an xion avzi ice cream blade which isn't great for a league5 type player). I've just ordered some Joola energy x-tra rubbers (37 degrees hardness) following the advice of a decent player at my club... so hopefully i'll be able to improve my game especially 3rd ball attacks. I may experiment by keeping the tour rubber on one side as i'm told players who can flip their blade during the game are at an advantage as they can utilise two different responses from different rubbers. Sorry better stop there as I could go on and on. Great to see you guys posting again

Hey
Haven’t watched you in years, I have not trained table tennis in years as well. I stopped having motivation and quit. Right now I am in the gym pumping iron only 😉 I’m now 19 and turning 20 this march, looking back at your old Ask the coach show I was asking too much questions, sometimes even off topic lol. I feel you that you might think I was a bit annoying at times lol
I can’t believe I asked so many question looking back on your videos hahaha. Could be that I’ve now matured since then.
The reason I was named Brock was because my favorite WWE wrestler had that name. I was 14 back then.
The showdowns with all the ” Tall Guy” was not real, well the first one was one of my trainers. I remember I said I knew like 4-5 guys who was over 7’0. Sorry if I lied about the other 4 guys.
I am thankful for all the help you gave me and it helped me indeed.

I’d also like to wish you a Happy New Year!!💥

Will certainly work on this. Do you have any tips identifying when your rubbers are dead? Thanks.

That’s a fun idea for a game variation. But to be legalistic: how do we know if a shot is an attack attempt or simply a normal push attempt? Of course the point isn’t to play this variation competitively, but there would need to be some rule like the player has to verbally announce the attack before contacting the ball.

This is were I get so many points keep it short ur opponent weight moving forward tend to push it long for me to loop.

In a regular match after a few short pushes you should open up the game already right?

I have a rule question. If you hit the ball at an angle and it does not go over the net but rather around the back of the net and lands on the other side of the table is that legal?

Am I allowed to use a no spin push randomly during the point?

My training parter always serve a long backspin tomahawk serve and I always get to attack. I might introduce him to do short serve and short pushing.
