I fell back in love with it after having a terrible coach in highschool, first year college had a double double season and now I am at my dream spot with an amazing coach.

thank you so much for this video, i know im late but i really needed it. I love basketball so much but when it comes to game time i absolutely HATE it. I’m a post and it sucks. I’m only the post because im the tallest girl on my team. But i’m not that muscular. The reason why i hate the post position is because all of the other posts are bigger then me and i js get pushed around all the time, and the refs don’t call it bc posts are meant to be tough. but its so hard mentally, because i feel like im losing all of the games for my team because i cant make a shot by the block because all of those girls are way bigger than me and more muscular. it also puts so much pressure and anxiety on me because i know my coach expects a lot from me and as well as my parents. after games i hate being talked to about it, and my parents will js give me this lecture abt what i did wrong. i dont think people understand that basketball comes with a lot of stress and anger, and anxiety. like after a game where i get 10 points, i wont be happy, its not getting to my standers that i set myself.

I practice all day every day but when it comes to games, I’m bad and I miss all my shots. When people who never practice are better than me

Thank you for making this video. I'm competing at elite level in my sport. But I still feel this way. I do think for me it came down to the "curse" of natural talent. I got through all my comps with ease, won medals without trying too hard. Now that it's getting more serious and I gotta put in the work I'm struggling. I just gotta learn that discipline and keep going. Thanks.

Hey man I'm a freshman starting pg 5'1 and I'm also a band student like you haha!1st question is did you quit band because of basketball, and you had to pick one? And I just wanna thank you because I've been going through a rough patch even though it's the beginning of the season, I feel like I will lose my starting spot. But after watching this I feel like this video is another gift from God, I just stumbled upon this great video by you and it really helped me. I have a big brother and father that tell me a lot of this stuff already, but this video and hearing that I'm not the only one in the world makes me feel like I can really flip the switch and succeed. Thank You!!!

15, 5'10. Started playing U17 this year but and almost all year i had this feeling. Not only new coach, which is main reason but also new competition. Our coach decided we should play U19 and D3 (D3 is like 20-30 year olds) and that was really hard getting used to. My best friend got the spot for starting Point Guard which was also really hard seeing. Right now as it stands im an undersized shooting guard, that is very fast and athletic (not in the vertical department though). Up until this season i had a half year run of consistent working out and this season i really have not been feeling like it because of these things. Next season im switching teams and i made a pretty good impression for the first practice. That starting PG spot is mine, and when the game versus my old team comes around, ama show coach who that starting spot really belongs to.

I aint even been on a highschool team before and ima sophomore, i just kinda feel like not playin cuz of the way it just feels empty. I get intimidated by the nice heads, but i used to get intimidated by other people and eventually would get way better then them. Im sure if i just work at it ill get that spark back.

I’m 14, got a long while, but I’m only 5”3. I’ve tried for competitive teams and get cut straight away. Slowly stopped trying and now I’m just playing casually, I don’t know where it went wrong. But we’ll see how it goes
