For reference

Kramer's “TopMan” cloak:
width: 43'' (3ft 7'')
height: 64'' (5ft 4'')
slit: 36'' (3ft) - continues 4'' past centre

The one I made:
width: 42'' (3ft 6'')
height: 76'' (6ft 4'')
slit: 43'' (3ft 7'') - continues 5'' past centre

Note: I made my cloak 12'' longer in total length, but I am (probably quite a lot) shorter than Kramer, so when designing your adventurer cloak dimensions it's best to start by measuring from the shoulder seam of your shirt to your knee while stood up, then multiply it by two and make adjustments as needed

[EDIT] And a few people wanted to know my height, and it does make sense that I should have included that to start with but I didn't think of that, I am 5ft 3'' tall

So happy you reached 1000 subs! I may revisit the cloak idea. My old cloak was made of two British Army wool blankets many years ago. But now, with repairs, it fits the idea of a ranger making repairs on the go. Looking forward to seeing more!

This series on the Ruana Cloak was very comprehensive and easy to follow, I am impressed! I made my own in just a day with this assistance and it came out wonderfully (altough I did make the neckhole much more elaborate than it maybe needed to be).

Mae govannen, Iodo! Oparnoshoshoi from the MERF forums here! I was in the discord channel and talking about a Ruana I'm planning to make once my fabric arrives (also inspired by Kramer's video) and someone mentioned you had done a video, as well. So here I am to check it out. And wouldn't you know it, as I'm skipping out on work and watching this, I am wearing an alpaca serape (cowboy poncho) and comparing these measurements to what I'm currently wearing. And sure enough, it hangs to the sides long enough to touch my elbows, to the front enough to touch my knees, and a little shorter in the back! So I may just trace this one to make my Ruana!

I am always pleased to see a new video from you, even if it is "old sausage!"

Another helpful instructional Iodo. I am accustomed to customizing my clothing articles for the opposite reasons that you are. Where you are a Dwarven Ranger, I am an Ogrish Barbarian. As standard patterns are likely too large for you, they are too tiny to fit my girth. So, we must endeavor to persevere and size things as needed.

Idk if you are a Star Wars fan or if you'll get the reference but in the thumbnail you kind of look like Mon Mothma :)
Adding this to my watch later list to come back when I have more time

Great video. I'm currently working on a Ruana cloak. Mine is both too long and too wide. Your tips are greatly appreciated.

I'm so happy that I checked the comments. I was wondering about your height also. I am 5'2" (thank you so much for not using metric measurements!) so it sounds like your dimensions should work for me (of course, I will still check the width of 3" past my elbow). Thank you so much for the video. I'm off to watch your ruana-making videos also.

I don't mean to pry. But do you collect license plates? I saw that Vermont plate and thought for a moment you were in the US.
