Trapped under ice gives me some vibes where you're trying to defeat addiction, but without said substance, you feel life is empty and basically you're trapped under ice because your whole entire happiness and motives all revolve around the drug of your choice. Addiction is a bitch, but you can overcome <3

Man it was a while bitch sifting through all of Metallica's songs looking for this one. I could only remember the chorus but it was unclear at first as to exactly what James was singing. I knew it had to be in the first 3 albums. Ride The Lightning is such a solid album. They were getting heavier and faster. I can't choose between this album and Master of Puppets but this is definitely my favorite song off this one. Super underrated.
