Nice hammer, nicer tongs! Glad you're getting use out of them. I hope they continue to be as versatile as they seem to be.

It never ceases to amaze me the way you punch out the handle eyes. It never works that way for

I would say as long as it makes it past my boots but as I get older I've noticed I've started to spread me feet apart some😅.
Really nice piece and I still admire the color of the handle wood you use.

For anyone that wants to make one but isnt a skilled blacksmith. Buy a T fitting for water pipes -for small one 1/2" works fine. Then buy 2 end plugs.Drill the end plug with a drill bit.Size should be smaller than a ball bearing, 3/4 of ball bearing should stick out.Put bearing into a water, place plug on top and weld it from inside.Water will keep bearing cool so it will retain surface hardness(if you are skilled and have a forge you can do heat treat again and skip water part).Place fishing weights or birdshot /small bearings inside and you can use 1/2" pipe with sealed threaded portion(so that the weights dont fall down tube) for handle. And wooosh you have magical dead blow peen hammer ! You can make brass ends and plastic from stock but you will need a water pipe die set, which is not that expensive.

cool little hammer, next time do we get to see it working.... My last hammer was a couple of pieces of leaf spring welded to a square section of wrought iron just to see if the pattern worked, it works so well I kept using it lol ...sometime I will forge one but not yet and I hope it looks as nice as that one ...thanks for sharing and happy new year

Happy New Year's! What a classy little hammer! What an awesome video. And those tongs! But none of it would be possible if it weren't for a true class act blacksmith driving the whole thing!
Blessings brother!

That is the hammer that I looked for 11 years before I made me one I didn't have a forge but I finally turned mine on the metal lathe and I made the peen tapered down to about 3 eighths heat treated with Oak charcoal and a heat gun to add air dropped it in parks ? Quenching oil tempered it down to a real dark straw and some purple put a little short handle in it and I guess I'll have it till I pass

That is a beautiful hammer, Glen! I am making a full size ball peen hammer now myself. I hope it looks half as nice as this one! And yes, I would be interested in buying the Brooklyn Bridge from you! 🤣.

Great work and result on the hammer Glen- and the Brooklyn bridge quote is classic! How do you find your forming dies? Is Taiwan a rich source of these industrial artifacts?
