Indian life expectancy is increasing, but at 70.8 years, it is still lower than the world average. Unhealthy food choices and associated risks are among the leading causes of death globally. Indian diet, especially, lacks protein and whole foods. We need to adopt the ‘Blue Zone diet’, says nutritionist Subhasree Ray.

We have a bad habit of measuring food consumption just by asking "how many Rotis do you eat?". Meals must have diverse ingredients instead of gulping same thing everytime. The real problem is that most of our population can't afford such a diet with a lot of variety. Olive oil, almonds, walnuts, cashews, apples, multigrain, etc. are not within reach of many households.

One of my grandmother (fathers aunt) became a widow at age 21 with 3 kids. As per convention, she had to become a vegetatian. She thought less as she did not have to bother about money. She lived in the village. And when she died at age 105 in 2019, she was in a big Indian city for over 35 years. She cooked her own vegetarian less oily food and did not exercise.????

We indians have a greater risk of diabetes, heart diseases and obesity because of our diet. We go for taste not healthy. Paratha, Puri, sweets, khakra, etc etc. There are people who eats samosa, parathas and sweets like jaliebis in their breakfast in India especially in North and west India. This has to change.
Blue zone diet and Japanese diet are the healthiest diet in the world.

The list of foods given has no relevance in India. A typical Indian with an average income does not have access to Avocado, oats, etc. Instead of blindly following the so called Western fad foods, maybe it will be better to mention traditional foods when making this videos.
Why should we eat sardines and salmons when we have so many varieties of Indian fish? This does not make any sense.
