CAN YOU BEAT Sonic 4 WITHOUT the Homing Attack!? (Episode 1)

Just want to say a few things:
Literally right after this video premiered I learned apparently springs give you way more momentum in the mobile version of the game, and you can just damage boost through the enemy to beat it without any homing attacks fairly easy. I feel stupid right now and I know I probably should have checked for the version discrepancy before I posted the video. So I mean, on the bright side yeah the challenge is done but also now none of you get any money or anything and I feel bad, so look forward to a likely giveaway in the future.

If I ever do episode 2 ill make sure to be more thorough, I know its just a stupid challenge that doesn't really matter but I also feel bad because the video is pretty much already outdated. Sorry about all that.

Also I know that you can restart the special stages but I do not have fast enough reflexes to hit pause right before I get flung into a goal thingy. The restart button helped me a lot but I still had to redo levels quite a bit.

As a kid playing Sonic 4 on the Wii, I made myself a "Sonic 1 Challenge " where you aren't allowed to homming attack or spin dash

If Sonic just stayed in a ball after jumping on a spring or rolling up a ramp like he does in every Genesis game ever, this wouldn't be an issue and you would never have to use the homing attack at all except for the part with the cards. I'm convinced that they made that change solely to force you to use it so that it didn't look like a completely useless addition.

Even as someone who likes this game, the fact that you NEED to use the homing attack or Super Sonic to deal with Bubbles chains is ridiculous design.
