8th grade on Khan Academy: 8th grade is all about tackling the meat of algebra and getting exposure to some of the foundational concepts in geometry. If you get this stuff (and you should because you're incredibly persistent), the rest of your life will be easy. Okay, maybe not your whole life, but at least your mathematical life. Seriously, if you really get the equations and functions stuff we cover here, most of high school will feel intuitive, even relaxing. (Content was selected for this grade level based on a typical curriculum in the United States.)

Why can't my classes be short and simple like this video? I've learned more here than the 6/7 hours my teacher spent teaching the topic... _but to be fair, I was half asleep during classes_

i saw this problem on my college entrance tests reviewer.. and this problem had been bothering me for almost a week ..

I hope I can help. a variable if theres no sign sometimes in this case a plus sign, is positive, example 4 or +4 just look whats one on top of another, sometimes there would be a negative and positive given next to each other.

but what if the Y don't cancel and you end up with something in the Y ?

how I understand this problem is like this, if y == y is true then y-y = 0. the sum must be zero to cancel out.

the problem goes like this ..
"because of the inflation, the price of the mangoes increased by 4php per kilogram . with this new price nene can buy two kilograms fewer than she could with the old price . what is the original price of the mangoes ? "
the answer given is 20 php . how does it come that way .. ?
