I was left alone in the secondhand bookshop for about two hours. That was the first and only time anyone let that happened. Now I've besame wiser and never let anyone know nor where I'm going, nor how large my home library is nowadays.

The average book costs $15.95(assuming they bought paperback copies). That means they bought roughly 55 books not including tax. (technically 54.7 but you can’t buy .7 of a book so I rounded up) Also, that’s an average of 11 books a minute. Basically a book every 5.5 seconds, massive respect. That person had a mission and I am quite sad that I was not invited.

Even as a kid I wanted to get SO many books. The difference now is that I have grown-up money and I'm unsupervised 🤣

This is sooo true, let me tell you the amount of self control I have to use to walk away from books and cute stuff in stores is almost super human…oh yeah and my rational adult version of me reminds me I have bills to pay too soo 😅

All the boxes in my garage are proof of this from working in bookstores for 10 years. Only reason it isn't growing is I have switched to mostly digital.
