In the case of Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, the Supreme Court of the United States overturned its 1973 ruling in Roe v. Wade, which had created a right to abortion through six months of pregnancy and even beyond. Was the Supreme Court Right in overturning Roe v. Wade?

In this video, Robert P. George, McCormick Professor of Jurisprudence and Director of the James Madison Program in American Ideals and Institutions at Princeton University, argues that the Dobbs decision, though condemned by those who today call themselves “progressives,” was correct. Watch the video to learn why professor George thinks so.

I would have loved to hear guests from different religious traditions discuss their positions on abortions and see if they could reach a consensus.

I wondered what this channel was about

Now I see

Oh my goodness. The first video I watched from this channel was about the importance of kindness, of acting with kindness and shared humanity within the context of this horrifying attempt at genocide in Gaza.

This video is madness, though. A fetus is not a person, but the pregnant person is, period.

This issue was never addressed in the constitution and therefore should be left to the states. This is strictly a matter for the states.

In coran we can see that it talks about fetus "human" 1400 years

1 Recite with the name of your Lord Who created,

2 He made man from the clot of blood,

3 Recite, for your Lord is the Most Generous,

4 Who taught writing by the pen.

5 Taught man what not.

6 Yes, undoubtedly, man transgresses.

7 Because, he thought himself self-sufficient.

8 Undoubtedly, unto your Lord is the return. Taught man what he knew

9 Well, you see him who forbids

10 A bondman of Ours when he offers prayer.

11 well, you see if he would have been on guidance,

12 Or he would have commanded piety, what a good thing it had been.

13 Well you see, if he belied and turned back, then what would be his condition.

14 Did he not know that Allah is seeing?

15 Yes, if he desisted not, We will assuredly drag him by catching his forelock hairs.

16 forelock of what type, lying, sinful.

17 Now let him call his association

18 Just now We call Our guards.

19 Yes, hear him not and prostrate and draw near to Us.

I love this channel, but I'm pro-choice. I don't care what any so called religious people think or believe.

I like this channel a lot, but this video doesn't seem to really promote understanding nor empathy. This take seems to care more about the law itself than about the people.

Giving the power back to the states enables them to oppress their people, which is exactly what's been going on in states that ban abortion. That's why Roe is necessary. Rights are not something you "impose" on anybody. One may choose to not excercise their rights, so there's really no imposing.

Yes it was. About the only good thing the current court did.

You have veered into an area way outside your intention of promoting understanding and empathy among members of various religions, especially the Abrahamic religions. This constitutional issue is, I dare say, “none of your business”. I am disappointed.

Another lesson on how clear text can be manipulated to say something that it clearly does not. Another case of judicial acting as legislative branch.

In Islam, all rights to grant life and death reside with Gid Almighty. Mankind can only choose to save life. If someone takes a life by his/her own will, he/she has to bear the punishment and penalty as it's a grave sin.
In islam, all life is sacred (humans, animals, plants, and soil/rocks/mountains) as it's created for a purpose.
Men and women are neither allowed to have illicit extra marital affairs nor to take a human life even if a child is born out of wedlock! However, when life of a mother or child are in danger, islam allows to save the life of one whose chances are more to survive. However, if a child has birth defects during pregnancy, he cannot be aborted, unless its dangerous for the life of mother or child. In short, Islam is pro-life!
