Awesome, I always knew that you could put the dim7 chord a half step below the next following chord, but I've never heard anyone talk about playing the dim7 chord a full step above (or thought about it), but it makes sense since the dim7 chord is symmetrical. So in a sense you're using an inversion of the dim7 chord. Great tip mate!

I've been using diminished chords like that for a long time but I always had to guess which one to use. Thanks for clarifying that tip. But aren't a half step below and a full step above just different inversions of the same chord?

even better, substitute the Bdim7 for the G7. Same leading tone relationship
