This is probably the most fun I've had in a while ❤ 2 projects, one gorgeous jelly roll 😊 what do you think?

My grandfather worked at a Cotton Gin in South Texas. He would bring the scraps home for my grandmother to use as batting. All of us grand kids would go through it looking for any forgotten cotton seeds. Her quilts sometimes had uneven batting but they were always very well loved. She lived from 1900-1995.

Ok! I have to tell you I have been quilting for a while! (Around 10 years) & I can really do most any quilt with success however these jelly roll rugs…ugh! Love them but they do not love me! Lol! I have a wasted jelly roll rug (BOWL!) in my sewing room right now! I have taken it apart TWICE! I’m going to try your way & hope I can beat my curse!❤️❤️thank you!!

I’m making one of these straight rugs now- you’re right- it is so sew FUN!! I’m using a larger needle, a walking foot, and I ended up sewing these strips together- easier for me than to do the strips one at a time- thanks for this great project!!

My mother made her rugs out of fabric strips that she folded and hand sewed together into fabric rope. Then she used a large wooden Crochet hook to crochet the rug. They were heavy and lasted a long time. The baby quilt and rug turn out very nice. The mother will love it. Thank you.

I was JUST looking at jelly roll rugs and thinking I'd like to make one. I was thinking oval - but I love this idea even better. Perfect timing!!

I have soooo many jelly roll straps, and i am going to make cat beds for the rescue i volunteer with. I will just binding each half instead of sewing them together. Thank you much for the great idea!!!! I knew there was a reason I saved all of those batting scraps!

Thank you for sharing the rug pattern. I already had "Bosal" batting strips. I plan to use them to make the rugs. I thought of using a "weaving" pattern. It might be too thick, not sure. I'm going to try.
All the best! See you for the next video!

Looks like fun, easy to follow instructions with great results. Can’t wait to use up my batting. I will also be making cat pads for my local shelter using this technique. ❤❤❤
