Question Period: Mark Norman trial, marijuana criminal record expungement — October 17, 2018

JT’s annual compensation is $347, 400. His total compensation consists of the Member of the House of Commons Basic Sessional Indemnity of CAD$172, 400, the Prime Minister Salary of CAD$172, 400, and the Prime Minister Car Allowance of CAD$2000.

Moreover, the current annual salary for members of Parliament is $172, 700, while cabinet ministers earn a total of $255, 300.

Taxpayers, as usual, are the ones carrying these burden. And with these staggering salaries and privileges, Canadians expect from these politicians to do their jobs properly and deliver, at the very least, the basic services to Canadians under a fair and transparent government. Unfortunately, that’s not what we’re seeing right now.
